Impact Crusher Circuit

An Impact Crusher Circuit is an integrated arrangement of processing equipment that centres on one or more impact crushers, combined with supporting machinery such as vibrating feeders, scalping screens, conveyors, dust collectors, and oversize return systems to achieve efficient and continuous size reduction of mined ore or rock. The circuit may be configured as open-circuit, where material passes through once, or closed-circuit, where oversize material is returned to the crusher for further reduction. In bauxite mining, impact crusher circuits are designed to handle sticky, high-moisture bauxite while managing clay blinding of screens. In gold mining operations, they process ROM (run-of-mine) oxide ore and prepare crushed material for heap leach or carbon-in-leach (CIL) circuits. In iron ore operations, the impact crusher circuit is integrated with wet or dry screening stations to classify material by size. For diamond recovery, the circuit design prioritises liberation of diamonds from host rock while minimising the energy and mechanical impact applied to avoid damaging valuable stones. Circuit optimisation involves balancing throughput, product size distribution, and equipment availability.
