Bulk Density Test
A standardised laboratory or field procedure to measure the mass per unit volume of ore, rock, soil, or processed material under specified conditions of compaction and moisture. Test methods are selected based on material type, competence, and porosity. Results are used in resource estimation, mine planning, and materials handling design. In bauxite, iron ore, and gold resource estimation, regular bulk density testing across all geological domains provides statistical confidence in the density values assigned to resource block models for accurate tonnage estimation.
