Bucket Capacity
The volumetric capacity of a loading or digging bucket, expressed in cubic metres, which determines the quantity of material moved per operating cycle. Bucket capacity is a key parameter for excavators, front-end loaders, bucket wheel excavators, and draglines, directly influencing equipment productivity and cycle times. In open pit iron ore and bauxite mines, large electric rope shovels with buckets of 50–100+ cubic metres achieve high loading rates. Bucket size selection matches loading equipment to the truck fleet being loaded and production requirements.
