Borehole Logging
The systematic recording of geological, geophysical, and geotechnical parameters measured within a borehole, providing continuous characterisation of subsurface conditions. Logging methods include geologist's core logging (visual examination of rock core), downhole geophysical logging (density, resistivity, gamma, magnetic susceptibility), and structural measurements using acoustic or optical televiewers. In mineral exploration and mining, borehole logging delivers critical data for resource estimation, geotechnical characterisation, and understanding ore body geometry in gold, iron ore, bauxite, and diamond projects.
