Bench Profiling
The measurement and recording of the physical shape and dimensions of mining benches using survey instruments, total stations, or LiDAR scanning. Bench profiling verifies compliance with design specifications for face angle, height, width, and crest position, supporting geotechnical monitoring and blast design optimisation. Regular profiling identifies deviations from design geometry, enables corrective action before stability issues develop, and provides data for volume calculations and reconciliation between planned and actual mining in open pit operations.
