Anode Carbon

The carbon material used to fabricate pre-baked anodes for aluminium reduction cells, composed primarily of petroleum coke bound with coal tar pitch. Anode carbon quality, including purity, porosity, electrical resistivity, and coefficient of thermal expansion, directly influences anode consumption rate, cell productivity, and the quality of aluminium produced. Inferior anode carbon contributes to increased carbon dust contamination of metal and higher cell downtime.
