Aluminum Ore
Any mineral or rock from which aluminium can be economically extracted, with bauxite being the overwhelmingly dominant commercial source worldwide. Bauxite contains aluminium hydroxide minerals including gibbsite, boehmite, and diaspore, formed through weathering of aluminosilicate rocks in tropical and subtropical climates. Alternative aluminium ores such as alunite, nepheline, and leucite are used in limited applications where bauxite is unavailable.
