Alumina Hydrate

Aluminium hydroxide (Al(OH)₃), also known as gibbsite or hydrargillite in its mineral form, produced as an intermediate product during precipitation in the Bayer process alumina refinery. Alumina hydrate is filtered, washed, and subsequently calcined at high temperature to produce anhydrous alumina. A portion of alumina hydrate is sold directly as a chemical product for water treatment, flame retardant, and industrial applications.
