Alumina Content
The concentration of aluminium oxide (Al₂O₃) in bauxite ore or processed materials, typically expressed as a percentage by mass. Alumina content is the primary quality parameter for bauxite feedstock, directly determining refinery yield and economic value. High alumina content ores require less caustic soda and energy per tonne of alumina produced. Alumina content is measured through X-ray fluorescence or wet chemical analysis.
