Any individual or legal entity which undertakes a sampling, an underground structure, an excavation, irrespective of the purpose, with the exception of wells for domestic use, the depth of which exceeds ten (10) meters, is required to declare such activity to the National Mining Authority and must be able to justify this statement.
Prior disclosure to the National Mining Authority is also required for any opening or closing of exploration or Mine or Quarry operation work, any geophysical survey, geotechnical study, any campaign for geochemical prospecting or for the study of heavy minerals. This declaration must be made at least one month before the opening and three (3) months before closure of the works. Any significant change adopted in the method of operation, any change in the scope of work and any change in work program is also subject to prior notification at least one month in advance.
